Elizabeth Street Cafe & Larder, Tauranga
We’ve been working with Mark and the team at BBC Commercial since 2012, mostly for shop fit-outs and cabinetry.
The best thing about working with BBC Commercial is their can-do attitude – nothing is too much trouble. They make you feel like you’re the only client they have and that your job is the most important one. They are flexible, work to our budgets, always give us options and alternatives and they have a great ‘think outside the box’ approach. Dealing with Mark is like working with a friend-he’s friendly and approachable, and in business today, that’s really refreshing.
The Elizabeth Café and Larder job really stands out because it was unbelievably complicated. The architect was only able to supply rendered drawings of how it should look – not actually how it could be constructed, that was something they had no idea how to do.
It was intricate and complicated because, if you can imagine all the services and utilities a café requires, well all those had to be hidden within this ceiling. Mark and the team committed to the job and somehow they managed to draw it and manufacture it perfectly – the architect was amazed.
While drawing it was a challenge, the installation was even more complicated. But they embraced the complexity of it all, and more than that, they wanted to succeed at it. Most others would have put this project in the too hard box, but these guys don’t do things by halves, and they absolutely nailed it.
